Meet Nicole
Nicole Carson
FOUNDER, REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
In a city like Vancouver, connection can be hard to come by. Through my work with clients, I noticed a growing need for spaces outside of home and work that foster community and togetherness. I created Third Space in response to that. It’s a space where healing unfolds and belonging can take root.
I am a relational therapist, and approach my work with warmth and a genuine curiosity. I believe that although therapy can be hard, there is space for levity in the process. Those lighter moments are a gentle reminder we are not alone. My approach is therefore best described as collaborative and person-centered. I work alongside my clients to help explore their stories and reframe life’s challenges in a way that aligns with their values, strengths, and desired outcomes.
As a straight-passing, cisgendered white woman, I recognize the privileges I hold and believe it is my responsibility to approach therapy with humility and openness. I strive to create a space that is inclusive and respectful of diverse identities and perspectives. I use a trauma-informed, integrative approach which I adapt to the unique needs of my clients. I draw primarily from strengths-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
In session, we might explore inner conflicts, process emotions, clarify core values, and turn our attention to the body to help soften and release any physical tension. When life happens, I’m here to offer support and provide tools to manage. When there is space and capacity to explore issues deeper, I’ll help turn us towards difficult emotions, welcoming them with compassion and curiosity.
I look forward to meeting you where you are, and helping you find a path forward that feels true to you.
