Couples and relationship counselling

Every relationship moves through seasons. Whether you're working through a specific conflict, rebuilding trust, adjusting to a major life change, or simply wanting to feel more connected again, couples counselling offers a space to slow down and understand one another.

What to expect

Your therapist will usually start with an initial session to get a clear picture of your relationship history, what's brought you in now, and what you're each hoping for. This is also a chance for you to get a feel for how your therapist works and ask any questions. Your therapist might also suggest meeting with each partner individually as part of the process. This can help surface things that are harder to voice in the room together and often supports the work as a couple rather than replacing it. If this is recommended, your therapist will be clear about the reasoning and how it fits into your overall plan.

Couples counselling works best when both partners are willing to look at their own part in the relationship's patterns. Your therapist will gently challenge both of you at times. You can expect a space that feels safe, structured, and honest.
